The Revolutionary Z Pattern: Pattern Types

Unlike most fractal patterns that have only one form, Z Patterns come in 3 different Main Types. None of these types are favoured over another. However each type has it’s own structure on the chart and is distinguishable. Moreover, every type has it’s unique variations. Sometimes they are inverted Zs, distorted Zs, extended Zs, tilted Zs or a combination of all. We will engage each Z Pattern type and it’s designated variations separately. Below are the 3 main Z Pattern types with a brief description. Each link will take you to a post where each type is discussed in depth with all variations and line chart examples;

Standard Type

This is the most common type of Z Pattern. It is the only type that completely resembles the letter ‘Z’. Standard Z Pattern types are commonly found on trend retracements (see Zrend), ranging markets and generally intraday movements.

Slim Type

This type of Z pattern requires more chart screening. It is often hidden in strong and steep momentums and is an excellent indication of an explosive momentum reversal. Slim Z Pattern types are very common after high impact news releases,huge and explosive price movements and within Zrend plays.

Extended Type

It’s the rarest and most mistaken Z Pattern type. Due to it’s extended form, unlike other Z Pattern types, it has a break in the middle (connection line ). Extended Z Pattern types occur when least expected. They offer exceptional trading opportunities with optimal Trade Entry and lower risk exposure. Whilst providing price, room to move.

Don’t be daunted by all the different Z Pattern Types and accompanying variations. They are easily distinguishable and are all traded with the same rules.
